Transformations of teaching and learning contexts in the digital age: the Moroccan educational system as a model
Abstract
This research is an attempt to extrapolate and understand the transformation in learning and education contexts in light of the media and information technology revolution, and strive to show that the integration of these technologies into the education system is heading towards the birth of a new educational revolution in the current digital age. Also, finding out the reality of integrating these technologies into the Moroccan educational system, and its improving the educational learning process inputs and outputs. It concluded that the contemporary communication and information revolution has led to revolutions and cracks in all areas of human life. Education is one of these areas that are undergoing a new process of reconstruction and modernization involving all its contexts. Information and communication technologies have imposed themselves within schools and universities. They have removed all the old pedagogical methods and reshaped educational programs and curricula according to a pattern that differs in form and type. They have also changed the reality of educational relations and values, and diversified the sources of knowledge acquisition, experience formation, and self-realization, thanks to their attractiveness, effectiveness, and interaction, the sound and visual effects they provide and ease of performance. This would reflect on the reality of the educational act and put us in front of an educational experience unprecedented in human history.
